Infinity Mirror

Look into infinity

Have you ever looked into an infinity mirror? You know one of those trick mirrors where you look into it and you see frame after frame that seems to go on forever? I used to see these mirrors in specialty shops back in the 70's and thought they were the most amazing things I had ever seen.

You can get the same effect by taking a large hand held mirror and holding it in front of your bathroom mirror. Look into the bathroom mirror and see the reflection of the one in your hand. Now look into that reflection and you will see a never ending chain of frames receding back into infinity.

You can use any size mirrors, dresser, door, etc. You can cut a hole in the mirror your holding and look through the hole for an even better view. Place an object between the 2 mirrors for even more fun. Enjoy

Don't know myself, Ive broke lots of them. Maybe that explains my current state of affairs.

how about one way mirrors, would those work too, without cutting the mirror?

Never tried a one way mirror.probably wouldnt be as clear, but you can always try it and see, thats the fun of it.

one way mirrors are wonderful, and are as perfect as normal ones - but they have a most curious property - they stop being a mirror in the dark! they act in the dark like slighly obscured glass, like one with solar tint.

it is most disconcerting to be used to "hiding" behind the mirror - and forget at night that you are totally on display!

No you don't need reflective film if using two mirrors, I wouldn't think reflective film would work as well although I've never tried it.

Here is where they just used the refective film with just two regular mirrors. I am trying to find out the exact kind of film that they are using. This film turns the regular mirror into a one way mirror. If anyone has tried this please let me know..

Thanks for the link, I've never used the reflective film myself, but I see where its sold at Home Depot (the 99% kind) for 26 bucks for a 3'x6.5' piece.
